Dean Sunshine Smith is what you would call a DJ’s DJ... a man who truly understands music and one of the UK’s most respected underground DJ’s and producers.
He has been a frontline DJ sharing the more eclectic and soulful side of dance music for over a quarter of a century
Dean is the man behind the globally respected deep house and reworks label - Soulshare Records. He has released a number of original tracks and remixes and is also the producer of the highly successful ‘SUNSHINE REWORKS’ series, which have gained worldwide recognition for their warmth, direction and sound. Simply put they are not just another bunch of bandwagon edits they are total reconstructions and re-interpretations of serious diggers funk, disco & soul gems. Re-ignited into modern day floor filling house classics and supported by some of the scenes biggest players!
Dean is also one of the key members of the Garden Festival productions team based in Croatia, each summer he resides and shares his sunshine sounds for a number of key European dance music festivals - namely - The Garden Festival, Southport weekender’s – Suncebeat, Soundwave, Electric Elephant and Stop making Sense.
Over Dean’s colorful history he has played and appeared throughout the globe at some of the most iconic clubs and venues in the world. To ask whom Dean has appeared alongside would be like viewing a who’s who of Dance music culture. He has shared the sounds with them all! From legends such as David Mancuso, Frankie knuckles, Francois K through Andrew Weatherall, Harvey, Derrick Carter, Norman Jay to the new breed with artists like 6th borough project, Eats everything, Nicolas Jaar, Metro area etc...
